Dr. Jennifer Alberty holds the distinction of having been a part of the APS team for the longest amount of time, with a ten year tenure and counting. Jennifer is a managing partner of Applied Psychologial Services. She is also the clinical psychologist of the group.
Having spent most of her life in this community, Jennifer attended, played volleyball for, and graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 1995 with a BS in psychology. Jennifer then spent the next several years in the Springfield area attending Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology in 1999.
Following her educational achievements, Jennifer moved to Chicago, Illinois where she spent five years in their school system working with inner city youth. She spent these years in their alternative schools developing behavioral modification programs. She also had the opportunity to train their staff to best assist troubled students find success and achievement in the mainstream setting.
For the past decade Dr. Alberty has dedicated her life to helping others deal with psychological issues of all types. A compassionate and empathetic clinician, she currently provides therapy for individuals as well as families who find themselves struggling with all types of personal and interpersonal concerns. Jennifer brings her therapeutic skills to assist her clients to find success and achievement in their day to day lives.
As a clinical psychologist, Jennifer is highly qualified to diagnose any form of mental illness in order to identify treatment recommendations for individuals of all ages. A gifted diagnostician, Jennifer provides complete assessment services for educational testing to determine various developmental disabilities as well as for ADHD and learning disabilities. Jennifer is called on by local social service agencies to provide assessments for Medicaid, parenting assessments, as well as other psychological testing. She is also used by a variety of other referral sources for personality and emotional assessments and legal based evaluations. She, her partners, and her staff bring together a full range of psychological services for the four state area.
Jennifer has recently undergone training by Lane Pederson, Psy.D., LP, DBTC in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and is a member of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy National Certification and Accredidation Association (DBTNCAA).
